1. The Promoter

1.1. The promoter is Steel-Town Competitions Ltd (“the Promoter”), registered in the United Kingdom.

2. The Competition

2.1. These terms apply to all skill-based competitions hosted on:
https://steel-towncompetitions.co.uk/ (“the Website”).

2.2. Each competition requires payment to enter unless using the free postal entry route. Where a multiple-choice or simplified question is used, a free entry method is always available.

2.3. To be eligible to win, entrants must correctly answer the Competition Question or solve the problem set by the Promoter.


3. How to Enter

3.1. Each competition runs from the Opening Date to the Closing Date shown on the Website. All dates and times are based in London, UK.

3.2. The Promoter may change these dates if necessary and will publish updated details on the Website. The Closing Date will never be extended just to sell more tickets.

3.3. Entries received after the Closing Date may be disqualified without refund.

3.4. Every competition has a maximum number of entries displayed on the Website. When all entries are sold, no further entries will be accepted.

3.5. Entrants may enter as many times as they wish, unless a per-person limit is stated.
Free postal entries must be sent separately. Bulk postal entries count as one entry only.

3.6. To enter online:

  • (a) Visit the Website and view the Competition Question
  • (b) Select your answer and number of entries
  • (c) Complete checkout
  • (d) Make payment to receive confirmation
  • (e) Repeat as desired until limits are reached

3.7. Entries must be made in English.

3.8. You will receive confirmation of your online entry and ticket numbers (excluding free postal entries).

3.9. The Promoter is not responsible for failed, incomplete, delayed, or lost entries, including technical failure or website issues.

3.10. By entering, you accept these Terms & Conditions and form a contract with the Promoter.


FREE Postal Entry Route

3.11. You may enter for free by post by following these rules:

(a) Send an unenclosed postcard via first or second-class post to:

(b) Hand-delivered entries are not accepted
(c) Each entry must include:

  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Email and Phone Number
  • Name of the competition
  • Your answer to the Competition Question

(d) Incomplete, bulk, or illegible entries will not be counted
(e) Each postcard counts as one entry only
(f) You must hold a registered account on the Website before posting
(g) Postal entries must arrive before the Closing Date. Proof of posting is not proof of entry.
(h) You will not receive confirmation of receipt
(i) If the competition sells out before your free entry arrives, it will not be entered


4. Choosing a Winner

4.1. All correct entries are entered into a random draw within 7 days of the Closing Date.

4.2. Instant win competitions provide randomly allocated numbers at checkout. Some numbers may contain instant prizes.

4.3. Entrants’ names and ticket numbers may appear on a live draw or published spreadsheet unless you request anonymity at least 48 hours before the draw by emailing hello@steel-towncompetitions.co.uk


5. Eligibility

5.1. Competitions are open to UK residents aged 18+, except:

  • Promoter employees
  • People professionally associated with the competition
  • Their household or immediate family

5.2. Proof of age and ID may be required. Failure to provide acceptable proof may lead to disqualification.

5.3. Automated or incomplete entries are void.

5.4. Abusive behaviour towards staff or attempts to manipulate the competition may result in disqualification.

5.5. Entry fees are non-refundable if:

  • You later discover you are ineligible
  • Rules change and you no longer qualify
  • You are disqualified for breaking terms

5.6. Fraud, hacking, interference, or code manipulation will void all entries and may result in a ban from future competitions.


6. The Prize

6.1. The prize for each competition is shown on the Website.

6.2. If a prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter may substitute it with a prize of equal or higher value.

6.3. The Promoter is not responsible for the prize once delivered or collected and makes no warranty regarding its condition or value.

If the Prize is a Vehicle:

  • A valid MOT (if applicable) will be provided
  • No insurance or tax is included
  • Winner must legally and safely operate the vehicle
  • Winner is responsible for tax, insurance, licensing and safety equipment
  • The Promoter is not responsible for the vehicle once handed over

6.5. A cash alternative may be offered if the prize becomes unavailable or circumstances require substitution.

6.6. Prizes are non-transferable.


7. Winners

7.1. The Promoter’s decision is final.

7.2. The winner’s name will be announced during the live draw unless anonymity was requested in advance.

7.3. The Promoter will attempt to contact the winner within 21 days.
If contact is not successful, a new winner will be drawn.

7.4. The Promoter will publish the winner’s name and town/county on the Website unless anonymity is requested prior to the draw. Regulatory bodies may still require verification.


8. Claiming the Prize

8.1. Prizes must be claimed personally and cannot be transferred to others.

8.2. It is the entrant’s responsibility to keep contact details up to date.

8.3. Cash prizes:

  • 70% transferred once bank details provided
  • 30% transferred once winner photo/video received
    Failure to prove the bank account belongs to the winner may result in disqualification.

8.4. The Promoter is not responsible if the winner cannot or does not take up the prize.

8.5. Vehicle transfers require completion of the V5 before handover.


9. Limitation of Liability

The Promoter is not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or death resulting from the prize, except where caused by negligence. Statutory rights remain unaffected.


10. Data Protection & Publicity

10.1. Personal data will be used only to administer the competition or as described in the Privacy Policy.

10.2. Winners may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity. You may opt out before the Closing Date.

10.3. Even if you opt out of publicity, information may still be provided to the Advertising Standards Authority if requested.

10.4. Additional personal information may be required to confirm eligibility and transfer the prize. Refusal may result in forfeiture.

10.5. Requesting deletion of contact details before the draw may remove you from the competition without refund.


11. General

11.1. Terms may be updated. The latest version will always appear on the Website.

11.2. The Promoter may disqualify anyone breaching these terms.

11.3. If a competition must be cancelled due to events outside the Promoter’s control, entry fees will be refunded.

11.4. There is no minimum number of entries. The draw will go ahead regardless.

11.5. Steel-Town Competitions is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Facebook, Instagram, or any other social platform.

11.6. These terms are governed by English law. UK courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

11.7. Entrants are advised to keep a copy of these Terms.
